After a dubious start to the day with heavy rain & clouds the weather was kind to Avril Montgomery. Avril was hosting a Tea Party on June 19th in support of the Marie Curie Fund and in memory of Brian Hearn who had recently died. About thirty people attended and as the sun was out everyone sat around enjoying tea, coffee and a wide selection of homemade cakes in the Montgomery's beautiful garden.
The stars of the show had to be the exquisitely decorated cup-cakes made by Maureen Barker that simply couldn’t be eaten, they were such works of art!
A raffle was held and the very impressive sum of £588.60 was raised. Avril finished the day by thanking everybody for coming and for all the cakes and raffle prizes so kindly donated.
