Standing at the centre of the village, the pub has served the village of Thorndon over the centuries. Ravaged by fire in 1998, it rose like a Phoenix and is now in the very capable hands of Darren Hayward.  A Free House, it sells Adnams beers, guest ales and cider from the local brewery, Aspalls, along with an extensive food menu which is available lunchtimes, evenings and as take-away.

A little further afield but well worth a visit being a  justifiably popular bar & restaurant run by Paul & Sarah Yaxley. The building is the old Guildhall of Fressingfield and there are beams galore inside. The food is highly commended being imaginative and is an excellent example of what young British chefs are producing today.
