In October 2009 a unique project was started whereby All Saint's Church, Thorndon provided the venue for a community café. The church already had a small kitchen and toilet facilities built in the previous year and to make full use of these improvements the idea of using them for a café was promoted. T-Plus is open on Tuesdays from 10am to mid-day.
Since its opening T-Plus has proved to be a popular meeting place for villagers and visitors alike being particularly popular with the Diss Cycle Club! Along with the café there is always the opportunity for 'traders' to rent a stall at a cost of £5; the chance to sell anything, the only criteria being that it must be legal and decent! The regular stall holders sell books, crafts, local produce and garden plants.
T Plus has become a firm fixture in the village calendar and a place where a warm welcome is guaranteed; since its inception, when a good week saw around 20 customers, today as many as 60 people attend. An opportunity to browse the stalls, taste the home made cakes & scones and enjoy a cafétiere coffee, a pot of tea or soft drink.
Come in and join the T-Plus Ladies, you’ll be sure of a warm welcome!
